Meet "Scooby": A Lifetime of Service to District 121

A Neighbor Who Shows Up

Most people in the 121st District don’t know him as Michael—they know him as "Scooby." That’s the kind of candidate Michael J. Stadulis is: the neighbor you’ve seen at the grocery store, the parish fundraiser, or perhaps, in your moment of greatest need, in the back of an ambulance.

Michael isn't just running for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives; he’s running to ensure that our community is never overlooked again. For Scooby, this campaign isn't about "politics as usual"—it’s about bringing an accountable, common-sense voice to Harrisburg that actually answers to the people.

Service That Started Early

Michael’s commitment to social responsibility didn't start on a campaign trail; it started in 1986. At just 14 years old, he began serving as an observer at the Plains Volunteer Ambulance Association Medic 2. That early spark of service turned into a lifelong calling.

A proud graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Michael stayed local, completing the paramedic curriculum at Luzerne County Community College. He didn't just learn about the problems facing our district; he spent decades working on the front lines of them.

25 Years on the Front Lines

For twenty-five years, Michael served our community as a paramedic. His career took him across every corner of the district, serving with:

  • Mercy Hospital Medic 301
  • Geisinger Medic 303
  • Spellman Ambulance Medic 8
  • Hanover Twp. Medic 9
  • Wilkes-Barre Fire Department (Medic 3 and 5)

He spent his final seven years of service as Chief Paramedic, leading teams through the high-pressure reality of public safety. This experience gave him a unique perspective on our infrastructure—navigating crumbling roads and aging bridges where every second counts.

Michael is also a staunch advocate for workers' rights. As a Union Steward with LIUNA Laborers Local 1310, he has consistently fought for the fair treatment and safety of the employees who keep our world turning.

Rooted in Family and Faith

Michael and his wife, Renee, live in the City of Wilkes-Barre, where they raised their two children, Michael Jr. and Hope. The 121st isn't just a district on a map to them—it's home.

The Stadulis family are active members of St. Robert Bellarmine at St. Aloysius, their parish home. Whether they are practicing their Catholic faith or rolling up their sleeves for church community fundraisers, their roots in this community run deep.

Why He’s Running

Michael has seen the "impossible choices" his neighbors have to make: choosing between filling a grocery cart or keeping the lights on. He’s watched utility rate hikes squeeze seniors and working families while corporate profits soar.

His vision for Harrisburg is simple: restoring accountability, helping working families stay afloat, investing fairly in schools, and making sure first responders and communities have the support they deserve.

Community, Service, and Leadership

Michael’s life has been rooted in answering the call, standing up for working families, and serving the people of District 121 with consistency, compassion, and accountability.

His vision for Harrisburg is simple:
• Restoring Accountability: Ensuring tax dollars are used efficiently, not lost in bureaucracy.
• Relief for Families: Fighting for property tax relief and tackling the rising cost of living.
• Investing in Schools: Demanding a fair funding formula so that a child's quality of education isn't dictated by their zip code.
• Safe Communities: Modernizing equipment for first responders and fixing the infrastructure that protects us from disasters.

“I’ve spent my life working hard for this district, and I’m going to work just as hard to make sure you can actually afford to live in it.”

On May 19th, vote for a neighbor who knows your struggle and has spent a lifetime answering the call. Vote Michael "Scooby" Stadulis.

Supporting Working Families

Right here in the 121st, I see neighbors forced to make impossible choices between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table. Our district was built by blue-collar workers and seniors who spent their lives keeping this community going, and it is unacceptable that they are now being crushed by rising costs and utility rate hikes they cannot afford. While corporations and utility companies post record profits, working families are getting hit with higher bills and added fees that force too many to choose between heating their homes and buying groceries. Too often, Harrisburg is not delivering the solutions people need. It is not just about what needs to be fixed, it is that too many common sense solutions never become law, and when government is divided even broadly supported ideas can get stuck while families continue to struggle. I am running because people deserve a government that actually works as hard as they do, and that means holding corporations accountable for unfair pricing, pushing for stronger oversight of utility rate increases, lowering everyday costs, and making essentials like childcare and healthcare truly affordable so families across Northeast Pennsylvania can stay in the communities they built.

2

Healthcare and Prescription Costs

No one in Pennsylvania should have to skip a dose of life-saving medicine just to make ends meet. It is wrong that drug companies and middlemen drive up costs while seniors and families are forced to ration prescriptions, often navigating a system that is confusing by design. I will work to increase transparency, hold pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy benefit managers accountable, and support policies that lower out-of-pocket costs. I will also fight to protect our local clinics and hospitals from corporate takeovers that put profits over patients, because healthcare should be about people, not profit.

3

Investing in Our Schools

In Pennsylvania, a child’s zip code still plays too big a role in the quality of education they receive, and that is simply not acceptable. Our schools here in the 121st are doing everything they can with limited resources, but an outdated and inequitable funding system continues to leave districts like ours behind. I will fight for a fair and adequate funding system that ensures every student has the resources they need to succeed, no matter where they live. That means investing in our classrooms, supporting our educators, strengthening career and technical programs, and making sure our schools are safe, modern, and fully funded so every child has a real opportunity to thrive.
